Deep Fried Spring Roll 炸春卷
Spring Rolls, Spring Rolls.
It is a very popular finger food in my generation. Spring rolls are always on the menu for party foods.
In Hong Kong, we could probably get them from Traditional Chinese restaurant (Tea House), unlike in Europe, every Chinese restaurants serve Spring rolls.
If you are having difficulty finding an restaurant which serve spring rolls, just make them by yourselves. It is very easy to make.
Ingredients
600g Sprout
400g Pork
1 Carrot
1 Block Fried Fish Block
1 Pack Spring Roll Pastry
1 Whole Egg
Seasoning
Few drops Sesame Oil
Pinch Ground pepper
2 TB SP Soy Sauce
1tsp salt
- Defrost the Spring Roll Pastry at room temperature
- Wash the Sprouts, then drain (If you have the one which leaves and roots, remove them before cooking. We only need the middle bit.)
- Cut the pork into thin stripes, season it
- Remove skins of carrot, cut into thin stripes
- Cut the Fried Fish Block into thin stripes
- Put oil into a pan, put pork into the pan. Stir Stir Stir Stir. When those porks start changing colour, put carrot and Fried Fish Block in
- Stir Stir Stir Stir, after 2-3 mins, put sprouts in. Stir Stir Stir Stir.
- Turn to medium-small heat, cook until everything is well cooked (It takes about 5 mins)
- Taste it and see if you need to put some salt in.
- If it taste very yummy. It is done. Set aside.
- Beat the Egg
- Separate the pastry one slice by one slice (This step seems to be redundant to be included in a recipe, but it actually takes me 5 mins to separate them well. It is better to prepare them well before you start to roll them.)
- Put the well cooked ingredients on the pastry evenly. Roll it and seal it with egg (There is always an instruction of how to roll a spring roll on the back side of the package) or you could see the below "Nicely Drew" instruction.
